But when you receive paychecks as a contractor, money is not actually withheld. Rather, you get a 1099 form at the end of the year, and you’re expected to pay self employment tax in one lump sum. This can be quite a shock for people that don’t expect this payment. So be prepared this tax season by setting aside roughly 15% of what you made. In setting one’s goals for 2009, it is suggested that you define your life’s mission statement. It does not matter what this mission is because it is yours and therefore needs no ones approval.
Why it is important to have a life mission statement?
1. People are attracted to those who are on a mission.
2. People are not attracted to those who’s only interest is money.
3. Having a mission gives you more drive.
Just get it done and write out a mission statement. It does not have to be perfect. It can be however long you want, but it should be at least 2 paragraphs.
It should explain what, you feel, is your purpose on this planet. Having a mission statement holds more professionalism as a home based business entrepreneur.
