Think about your situation before coming up with a conclusion.  Use these simple, but difficult questions to help you get started.

1. What position do you own?

Know your competition.  Who are you up against, the figure out if anything can be done about it.

2. What position do you want to own?

Figure out the best position from a long-term point of view.  Define, and own the position you desire with the specialist in your expertise.

3. Whom must you outgun?

Select a position that no one else has a firm grip on.

4. Do you have enough money?

Are you attempting to achieve the impossible.  Advertising is fierce, and there are too many products and companies fighting for the prospect.

5. Can you stick it out?

With our over communicated society, positioning is cumulative.  It takes advantage of those advertising in long-range.  Companies should never change it’s basic positioning strategy.  Only short-term maneuvers to implement the long-term strategy.  Take the basic strategy and improve it.

6. Do you match your position?

Matching your position may take away your creativity.  Those that are creative resist positioning thinking because positioning restricts creativity.

When most authority that is followed with obedience is mostly rewarding, it’s easy to allow ourselves the convenience of automatic obedience.  We don’t have to think ourselves, just react.  For example, our health is pretty important to most of us.  When we are sick, we go to a Doctor or physician.  They have the authority to prescribe a solution.  We use the tradition of automatic obedience to follow their orders.  Look for the 3 types of symbols of authority:

1. Title – easiest to recognize, yet take years to achieve.

2. Clothes – Can be easily faked – 2 types influential – guard uniform and business suit

3. Trappings – Such as jewelry and cars – The status symbol

Each of these with the proper authority status may account for much of its success.  You don’t have to fake it in this industry to be successful.  Just be you, be professional.  People have confidence in those that show leadership skills in just being themselves.  It not only works for the online business entrepreneur, but powerfully also.

As a role, most people say “Yes” to the requests of someone we know and like.  Do you use this same rule when deciding on an entrepreneur opportunity?

Is that why home parties are so popular and successful too?  Another general rule is that good-looking people have an advantage in social interaction and how they are viewed by others.  Research shows that good-looking people have more favorable traits also such as talented, kind, honest and intelligent.  We make these judgments without even being aware that physical attractiveness even plays a role in this process.

What if physical appearance was not an issue?  After all, most people have average looks? Another factor is we like people who are similar to us.  Similar in opinions personality traits, background or life-style.  Some go as far as copy others, body posture, mood, verbal style to be just like them.

Then for the most part, we like things that are familiar to us.  When you use team learning.  It helps the cooperation we have on those using the liking principal.  It helps us pull together our familiarity toward one another.

Because our liking can be increased, look for the defenses so you can recognize them: physical attraction, familiarity and association.  The timing of all these can come into factor also.  The time to react.  Reacting is timely when starting an entrepreneur opportunity.  Love it and act fast!

In examining conditions, we see the reactions of other people to resolve our uncertainty.  When you do that you are likely to overlook a subtle, but important facts.  Probably examining the social evidence also.  The tendency to see what everyone else is doing can lead to a “pluralistic ignorance.”  It has grown to a society of uncaring people when people are uncertain they are more likely to use others actions to decide how they should act.

The principal of social proof works most powerfully when observing the behavior of people like us.  It’s the actions of people that gives us the ideas of how we should act.  Therefore we are more inclined to follow the lead of those that are similar than dissimilar.

If we become sensitive to these situations where we use this social proof, then we can control what’s working to the inaccurate information.  There are two types of situations where incorrect information from social proof gives us poor decisions.

1. Occurs when social evidence is false rather situations create impressions or the way they want to perform.

2. The Pluralistic ignorance – where everyone at an emergency sees no cause for alarm.

Using social proof to fully base your decision on entrepreneur opportunities should not be trusted fully.  Observe facts, prior experiences and use our own judgments.

The most effective commitments are those that change a person’s self-image and future behavior.  This makes a difference whether the commitment is short-lived or long-term.  Home based business professionals use commitments that produce inner change.  First, it’s not just specific to a situation it first occurred, but a whole range of related situations.

Second, the effects of change are lasting.

One technique of this inner change is called, “throwing a lowball.” Car dealers like to use this technique.  Basically where the offer is way below competitors’ prices and is a favorable purchase decision.  Then after the decision is made and before the bargain is sealed the original purchase price is resumed.  The impressive thing about this lowball tactic is the ability to make a person feel pleased with a poor choice.

Automatic consistency – This consistency is structured with or interactions so that our needs will be consistent to lead directly to the benefits.  My favorite example is the Christmas toys offered at Christmas time… The toy manufacturers advertise the hot items near Christmas time, then don’t supply the need.  Then come back in early the next year to offer the supply again.

Notice how the different ways of human behavior can affect how you can be consistent with decisions of deciding upon many entrepreneur opportunities.
